Most Romantic Hotels in Jackson Hole
Lying in an alpine meadow watching for stars shooting across some of the country’s clearest night skies. Walking hand-in-hand through fields of wildflowers. Staging a picnic on the bank of a burbling creek. Snuggling into a double sleeping bag in a yurt as a fire crackles in a woodburning stove. Candle-lit dinners with sweeping views. A horse-drawn sleigh ride. Canoeing across a lake to a secluded campsite. There’s no shortage of romantic things to do in Jackson Hole. The Jackson Hole definition of romance includes all of these. And more. Several couples get engaged each summer after first climbing the Grand Teton together. One of the most romantic things my boyfriend and I do is seek out some of Grand Teton National Park’s most remote lakes—ones without trails to them—and have picnics and take naps on their shores. Whatever romance you pack your days with, settle into one of these hotels for a romantic night.
The Alpine House & Cottages
Five colorful—pale green and yellow—stand-alone creekside cottages are tucked into the northern end of Glenwood St. Each of the stacked log cabins has its own glass-fronted woodburning stove or fireplace, tiled soaking tub, and couches and chairs calling for you to burrow into with a down comforter borrowed from a bed.
Jenny Lake Lodge
These historic cabins have a national park out the front door and no TVs inside. The main lodge has a fireplace that’s usually roaring and, pre-dinner there’s often live acoustic music. Rates include horseback riding and use of lodge’s bicycles. A mellow, seven-mile hiking trail around Jenny Lake starts two-minutes away.
Couples love the rooms here with gas fireplaces (rooms without fireplaces have private decks) as well as the deep soaking tubs—standard in all rooms—and oversize walk-in showers. The soft-as-can-be linens and weighty down comforters encourage you to stay in bed as late as possible.
From the towering redwood walls and ceilings at the entrance to the service, everything about Amangani is warmly intimate and refined. And then there are the stellar views of the Tetons from the lobby and each of the forty guestrooms. Rumor is that Justin Timberlake proposed to Jessica Biel while vacationing here.
With 32 rooms in the lodge, four treatment rooms in its Body Sage Spa, and seven tables in its Wild Sage restaurant, the Rusty Parrot is all about keeping things cozy. The summer-time rooftop deck has a gas fire pit perfect for cannodling and a perfect-for-two hot tub with views of the Gros Ventre Mountains.
